Don Maul joined Inotiv in December 2019 as senior vice president of surgical models. In addition to being the founder of one of Inotiv’s legacy companies, Pre-Clinical Research Services, Inc., he brings 40 years of experience in animal research to his role. His focus is to guide the expansion of GLP compliant surgical and vascular interventional studies as a center of excellence, along with growing pharmacology and toxicology services. He is a diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine and has served on multiple corporate boards of directors. His research focused on retrovirus infection models of HIV in non-human primates and on osteoarthritis and surgical animal models. He has extensive experience with research animal facility design and construction.
Prior to Pre-Clinical Research Services, Maul held positions as director of laboratory animal resources at Colorado State University and before that as assistant director/sr. veterinarian at the California Primate Research Center at University of California, Davis. He received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Colorado State University. He served his residency in primate medicine at the University of California, Davis, where he also received his master’s in immunology.
